Stirring the possum...again.

Tripped over some interesting observations and information....
The Dept of Sustainability and Environment(aka Dept Scorched Earth) cut 100 fire management jobs 12 months ago.
And they've currently decided to trial a new firefighting roster system in the middle of a severe drought and fire season.
But the workers have gotta smile through gritted teeth after Parks Vic laid down rules for how they may and may not speak or gossip at work.
If you have a look at this VNPA page,you can see their first goal is -
Goals: The VNPA's key goals are:
1. Expanding the park system
Yep expanding the area they are currently not coping with very well and further down the same page is this gem -
Expand the park to include the Thompson Dam catchment and phase out logging from this area.
Shall we expect fires through the catchment area each Summer ?
But rumblings and the demand for answers are getting louder.
Catherine Murphy has stated the flaming obvious with her article "Locking up forests increases risk of fires".

And the very Mountain Cattlemen who were booted out of the Alpine areas have been doing Parks Vic job for them,by protecting the assests which were appropriated from them.
